Nationwide, temperatures will drop significantly in the northern, central, and western regions starting Friday. Precipitation will continue throughout the week, and from Friday onward, it will expand its area of impact. Showers are expected in many regions over the weekend.
Air temperatures across the country, which have been running above seasonal norms, are expected to decrease noticeably in the northern, central, and western regions starting from Friday.
THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED IN SOME REGIONS
Fevzi Burak Tekin, a weather forecast expert at the General Directorate of Meteorology of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, made an assessment to an AA correspondent regarding the expected weather conditions across the country this week.
Tekin stated that local and thunderous showers are expected tomorrow in the Eastern Black Sea, the Taurus Mountains region of the Eastern Mediterranean, the surroundings of Ordu, Tokat, Erzincan, Ardahan, Kars, and Osmaniye, the Hatay coast, and the west of Kahramanmaraş.
Tekin stated that on Wednesday, precipitation will be effective in the Eastern Black Sea, the north and west of Eastern Anatolia, and the Taurus Mountains region of the Eastern Mediterranean, and noted that on Thursday, showers and thunderstorms will be seen in the Eastern Black Sea and the northeast of Eastern Anatolia, as well as in Thrace and the Taurus Mountains region of the Mediterranean.
TEMPERATURES WILL DROP ON FRIDAY
Tekin, stating that the rainy weather will expand its area of influence from Friday onward, noted that showers and thunderstorms will be effective in Central Anatolia, the Black Sea, the Eastern Mediterranean, the east of Marmara, and the north and west of Eastern Anatolia.
Tekin reported that on Saturday, precipitation will continue across a large part of the country, especially in Central Anatolia, the Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia, and the Eastern Mediterranean, and that on Sunday, showers and thunderstorms are expected in Central Anatolia, the Black Sea, the north and west of Eastern Anatolia, the Eastern Mediterranean, and the west of Southeastern Anatolia.
Drawing attention to the fact that air temperatures are still above seasonal norms, Tekin said, "We expect air temperatures to decrease noticeably in the northern, central, and western parts of the country as of Friday."
