While tensions were experienced during the delegate elections of the CHP in Marmaris, it was observed that discussions occasionally turned into scuffles.
The Republican People's Party (CHP) district delegate elections in Marmaris started off tense. Today, CHP members residing in the neighborhoods of Sarıana, Çıldır, Kemeraltı, and Çamdibi went to the polls for the blue and white lists to determine the district president.
Party members, who stated that they expected a democratic election, reacted to the attitude of Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü, who was alleged to have tried to influence the election results despite the presence of ballot boxes.
TENSION IN DELEGATE ELECTIONS
As the delegate elections continued with tense moments, discussions occasionally arose among party members who found Mayor Acar Ünlü's behavior in the polling area to be undemocratic.
SCUFFLES OCCURRED
In the elections where the blue list supported Pelin Özbozdağ and the white list backed the current president, Lawyer Ömer Bozdemir, discussions and scuffles occurred from time to time. During the voting, which started at 16:00 and will last until 21:30 at the Marmaris Multi-Purpose Hall, Mayor Acar Ünlü was also present in the hall. It was observed that Ünlü and the deputy mayors frequently interacted with party members throughout the voting process.
The CHP Marmaris delegate elections will continue in 30 neighborhoods of the district until August 29. Subsequently, the delegates to be determined in September will vote to elect the new district president.
