The budget of the Ministry of National Defense for the year 2025 has begun to be discussed in the Planning and Budget Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). The meeting, which started off tense, saw National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler leave the commission after remarks made by CHP Deputy Serkan Sarı.

PROTEST FROM CHP DEPUTIES
Before the discussions, the deputies of the Republican People's Party (CHP) staged a notable protest. The deputies sent a message by leaving placards saying "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" on their seats.
MINISTER GÜLER LEFT THE COMMISSION
During the tense discussions, CHP Deputy Serkan Sarı asked, "Mr. Minister, can you say 'I am a soldier of Mustafa Kemal'? It is your duty to support the women lieutenants who have excelled in the army; why are you not supporting them?" At that moment, it was observed that Minister Güler left the commission.
