In the Büyükçekmece district of Istanbul, a motorcycle accident occurred when the motorcycle collided with a vehicle coming from the opposite lane, resulting in the death of 2 high school students, while the driver was taken to the police station for questioning.
In Büyükçekmece, 17-year-old Jiyan Ulus and his passenger Muhammet Seçgin lost their lives after a motorcycle collided with a vehicle coming from the opposite lane.
MOTORCYCLE AND CAR COLLIDED HEAD-ON
The incident occurred yesterday evening in the Celaliye neighborhood of Büyükçekmece, on Cumhuriyet Street. According to the information obtained, the motorcycle driven by Jiyan Ulus (17), which was traveling on the street, collided head-on with a passenger vehicle coming from the opposite lane. After the accident, Ulus and his passenger Muhammet Seçgin (17) fell to the ground. Citizens nearby who witnessed the accident alerted health and police teams. Jiyan Ulus died at the scene, while Muhammet Seçgin passed away in the hospital. The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident was taken into custody.
EYEWITNESS DESCRIBES THE ACCIDENT
Canan Dağlı, who lives in the area where the accident occurred, described what happened, saying, "They were coming from opposite directions, the person who died on the ground had no reflexes. The other one was breathing but in bad condition. I didn't know why. They might have skidded. There are no speed bumps, I have also made a request. Precautions need to be taken. This is a school zone, children go to school here," she said.
BOTH WERE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
It was learned that Jiyan Ulus, who lost his life, was a 12th-grade student at a vocational high school, while Muhammet Seçgin was an 11th-grade student.
