Russia's attack on Ukraine turned into a massacre: 37 people killed, hundreds evacuated

The Russian drone attack on the village of Myla near Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, turned into a major massacre. As a result of the explosion at the ammunition depot targeted in the attack that took place at night, 37 people lost their lives. Following the horror that occurred, more than 370 citizens were evacuated from the region.

EXPLOSION OCCURRED IN WAREHOUSE 

Timur Tkachenko, Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, reported in his statement that the village of Myla, in the Bucha district of the Kyiv region, was targeted by Russia during the night hours.

Stating that 37 people lost their lives in the attack, Tkachenko reported that search and rescue efforts at the scene are ongoing.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, in his statement regarding the attack, said that a drone attack was carried out on the village of Myla and that an explosion occurred in a warehouse following the attack.

Stating that the explosion seriously damaged the infrastructure in the region, Zelenskyi expressed that many residences, as well as a care center where elderly and disabled people stay, were damaged.

MORE THAN 370 PEOPLE EVACUATED 

Zelenskyi announced that more than 370 people were evacuated from the region after the attack.

Stating that more than 300 personnel from the Ukrainian State Emergency Service participated in the rescue efforts, Zelenskyi noted that teams continue their work in the region.

Zelenskyi reported that Taras Didych, the Head of the Dmytrivka Community, was also among those who lost their lives, stating that Didych died while trying to save people after the attack.

MANY REGIONS OF UKRAINE TARGETED 

Zelenskyi reported that in addition to the village of Myla, attacks were also carried out on different regions of Ukraine during the night hours.

Stating that the Odesa, Dnipro, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kherson, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Donetsk, and Chernihiv regions were targeted, Zelenskyi stated that more than 260 attack-type drones and "Banderol"-type drones were used in the attacks.

Emphasizing that Ukraine should not be left alone in order to improve its defense capacity against these attacks, Zelenskyi thanked the countries that supported his country with new support packages and sanction steps against Russia.
