The landlord C.Ç., who had not been able to reach his tenant for a long time, had the locksmith open the door of the apartment. During his inspection of the house, he encountered a body wrapped in garbage bags inside the freezer and refrigerator, and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the report, teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Public Security Branch, along with health and crime scene investigation teams, were dispatched to the scene.
THE BODY BELONGED TO A PERSON WHO WENT MISSING 11 YEARS AGO
In a detailed examination conducted under the supervision of the public prosecutor, it was determined that the body stored in the freezers belonged to a male individual. The body was placed in a coffin and sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution for examination. It is believed that the body belongs to Hüseyin Okumuşoğlu, who was reported missing approximately 11 years ago. The police have launched a wide-ranging investigation to determine how the incident occurred and the motive for the murder. Four suspects believed to be connected to the incident have also been taken into custody.
THE TENANT DIED, PAYMENTS NEVER FAILED
It was reported that Meliha Veske, who was residing as a tenant in the house where the murder took place, passed away on May 3 due to health problems. It was noted that the rent and electricity bills were also paid regularly.
"WE NEVER SMELLED ANY ODOR"
Speaking after the incident, apartment resident Lütfü Gümüşsoy said, "We haven't known who has been living here for a long time. They said, 'We rented it with the furniture.' We were curious about who was coming and going. The landlord also said, 'I am collecting the rent.' We thought there was someone living here. We were asking the neighbors, 'Is anyone coming or going here?' They said, 'We don't see anyone.' Yesterday, the landlord came and said, 'I will bring a locksmith, I will open the house. There is a problematic situation.' That’s all we know. I have been in this building since 2002, and nothing like this has ever happened. We never smelled any odor. The electricity bill was coming, so I thought they were paying it," he expressed.
