FIRST HE INSULTED, THEN ATTACKED WITH KICKS AND PUNCHES
The incident occurred yesterday around 5:00 PM in a park located in the Çavuşoğlu neighborhood of Kartal. According to reports, Begüm Coşkun, who picked up her 3-and-a-half-year-old child from daycare, went to the park to spend time with her child and two female parents she met at the daycare. When a group of children playing with a ball hit Begüm Coşkun in the face with the ball, Coşkun took the ball and told the children that they should play further away, or the ball would hit other children in the park. In response, a man named E.U., who was the father of one of the children in the group, approached Begüm Coşkun, demanded the ball, and then insulted her.

After the argument between the two, E.U., unable to control his anger, began to attack Coşkun with kicks and punches. Other women and E.U.'s child tried to stop him. The kicks and punches thrown by the man also hit the other women. As the incident ended, the man left the park, and a police team was dispatched to the scene upon the women's report. Begüm Coşkun and two of her female friends who were attacked by the man filed a complaint against him.
Describing the moment of the incident, Begüm Coşkun said: "Yesterday evening, three of our friends brought our children to the park after picking them up from daycare. The man who attacked us yesterday was in the park at the same time with his two children. Later, my son sat on the swing next to this man's little son and started swinging. He said, 'I want to get off, mom,' and got off to continue playing in the park. I turned around to go towards the bench when the ball that the children were playing with hit my face.
"IF YOU DON'T GIVE ME THE BALL, I'LL SLAP YOU"
I took their balls and told the children, 'Kids, play a little further away; there are slides here, and there are friends sliding down, so it could hit you in the face and hurt.' One of the little kids said, 'What if it hits him in the face, will he die?' I said, 'He won't die, but it will hurt; if it hurts me, it will hurt them too. Play a little further away, and after you go further, I will give you the ball.' Among those playing with the ball was this man's older son. He stopped swinging and came over, saying, 'You are giving me the ball.' I said, 'Who are you?' I was speaking very nicely. He said to me, 'If you don't give me the ball, I'll slap you.'
"WE ALL EXPERIENCED VIOLENCE"
When he started to approach me, the incident began there. He attacked us. We tried to protect ourselves. He particularly targeted me with the attack. Any punch that didn't hit me hit all the other women present; all the women there experienced violence from the man. Later, we called the police, and they came. I am a person who lives normally in my home, at work, in my daily life; I don't know the police station, I have never been assaulted in my life. I can't digest this. I want this man to receive whatever punishment he deserves.
"IF HE CAN'T CONTROL HIS ANGER, HE SHOULD NOT COME TO THE PARK"
People come there to relieve stress and make their children happy. I want to prevent such incidents from happening, so I want this man to receive whatever punishment he deserves as a precedent. If he can't control his anger, if he can't restrain himself, if he attacks other women in front of his own children as if he were hitting a man, he shouldn't come to the park.
