On July 3, the inflation data for June will be announced, clarifying the salary increase for civil servants and retirees. The government's top priority will be to increase the lowest pension. Retirees with a base salary below 14,469 TL will not receive an increase in July as it stands. Therefore, a legal regulation is planned to ensure that all low-income retirees can benefit from the increase.

"WE WILL HOLD MEETINGS AFTER JULY 3"

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan made statements regarding the regulation for the lowest pension. After the Cabinet meeting at Beştepe, Minister Işıkhan answered questions from the press, stating, "When the June inflation figure is clear on July 3, the CPI for the first 6 months of the year will also be revealed. With the clarification of these figures, we will hold the necessary meetings under the leadership of our Minister of Treasury and Finance and our Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. Subsequently, the relevant figures will be presented to the Parliament in a very short time. The decision is up to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey," he said.

Minister Işıkhan recalled that AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler also made statements regarding the issue, expressing, "Hopefully, it will be beneficial for our retirees."

FINAL OFFER TO PUBLIC WORKERS THIS WEEK

Providing information about the collective bargaining process, Işıkhan stated that they are nearing the end of negotiations covering public workers. Işıkhan said, "Within the framework of the Public Framework Protocol, we will present our final offer to our unions through TÜHİS this week. I believe that an agreement will be reached at a reasonable point," he said.

THREE POSSIBILITIES FOR THE LOWEST PENSION

According to the latest announced inflation data, the cumulative increase over 5 months is at the level of 15.09%. If the June inflation is around 1.5%, it is expected that the increase rate will reach 16.81% and the lowest pension will be 16,901 TL.

Additionally, scenarios for increases that can be made independently of inflation are also being discussed. According to these scenarios;

  • If a 20% increase is made, the salary will be 17,363 TL,
  • In the case of a 25% increase, the salary will rise to 18,086 TL,
  • If a 30% increase is applied, the lowest salary will reach 18,810 TL.

With the announcement of the June inflation figures, the increase rate and the final salary amount will also be confirmed.
