Leading Labels, a clothing chain founded in the UK in 1993, has entered liquidation proceedings following financial difficulties and decided to close all of its 15 stores. The company, ending its 33-year operation, has begun offering discounts of up to 75% to clear stock in its stores.

A new problem has been added to the difficulties in the UK retail sector. Leading Labels, which offered products from brands such as Calvin Klein, Wrangler, Elle, and Joules to consumers at discounted prices, has decided to close its stores after 33 years of operation.

While the company's website has also ceased operations, closing sales continue in order to completely liquidate the products in the stores.

ALL 15 STORES WILL CLOSE

Leading Labels' financial difficulties became apparent in the early months of the year. The company entered a liquidation process on May 26, and a liquidator was appointed to carry out the proceedings.

Previous official records also showed that the company had financial accounts that had not been submitted on time.

With the liquidation decision, it was planned to close all stores in 15 locations, including Basildon, Bolton, Boston, Carlisle, Ipswich, Lincoln, Norwich, and Stevenage.

With the implementation of the decision, Leading Labels' 33-year retail journey in the UK will come to an end.

DISCOUNTS RISE TO 75 PERCENT

As the closing process progressed, discount rates in stores were also increased. Discounts of up to 75 percent began to be applied on remaining products.

The company's goal is to liquidate existing stock as much as possible before the stores' doors completely close.

DIFFICULTIES IN THE RETAIL SECTOR ARE INCREASING

The closure of Leading Labels is one of the latest examples of the difficulties facing physical retail in the UK.

Rising operating costs, a decline in the number of customers visiting stores, and consumers increasingly turning to online shopping are adding to the pressure on traditional clothing stores, in particular.

With the closure of all Leading Labels branches, the 33-year period that began in 1993 will also come to an end.
