A 49-year-old Olga Ershova lost her life when her parachute did not open as she jumped from a height of 2,650 feet on her birthday and fell onto a tree. Olga, from the city of Kirov in western Russia, was the last of three women to jump out of the plane on July 27 with her two friends. An impressed spectator praises the women for their courageous jumps. However, when Olga's parachute did not open, the man's calmness quickly turns into panic and he starts swearing in Russian. Olga fell much faster than her friends as the parachute gained speed. The jump organizer, who is known to have connections to the Russian army, instructed Olga to use the reserve parachute through a megaphone. He shouts "reserve" five times. Olga, who did not know how to use the emergency equipment, hit a birch tree and fell to the ground. According to reports, Olga was taken to the hospital and serious fractures were detected. At first, she miraculously started to recover, and a relative said she was able to get out of bed. However, her condition worsened and she lost her life. The hospital confirmed that she died due to injuries caused by the fall.
