An indictment has been prepared regarding the murder of transgender individual Nida Nazlıer in Antalya by Aref Elhusseın, a Syrian national. During the examination of the defendant, who claimed that the victim had sexually assaulted him, no findings were found to support his allegation, and it was stated that he acted in this manner to evade the charge of murder.
Shocking details have emerged in the indictment prepared regarding the murder of 45-year-old Nida Nazlıer, who was stabbed in the throat and face in the bathroom in Antalya.
FOUND STABBED AT HOME
The incident occurred on July 31 at around 5:00 PM in a five-story building on Cebesoy Street in the Zerdalilik neighborhood of Muratpaşa district. H.İ. (23), who had just left work, came to the home of his friend, transgender individual Nida Nazlıer. Upon entering the house, H.İ. found Nazlıer covered in blood in the bathroom. Teams that arrived at the address upon notification determined that Nazlıer had died from stab wounds to her throat and both sides of her face.
BURIED KNIFE FOUND IN THE GARDEN
During their investigation at the house and surrounding area, police teams found a knife buried in a flowerpot in the garden. Following the discovery of the knife, which was preserved as evidence, H.İ., who found Nazlıer, and H.H. (39), who had last spoken to her on the phone and came to the house to get a key, were taken into custody. The homicide bureau teams identified the suspect by examining over 80 security camera recordings. Aref Elhusseın, a Syrian national identified as living in the Güneş neighborhood of Kepez district, was captured in an operation. The suspect's identity was determined through fingerprint analysis.
"I RAN AWAY WHEN I WAS COVERED IN BLOOD"
After their statements, Aref Elhusseın, H.İ., and H.H. were taken for a health check before being sent to the courthouse. During the hospital procedures, a blood sample was taken from Aref Elhusseın, and it was observed that his right hand was bandaged. In his statement, Aref Elhusseın, who confessed to the crime, claimed that he and Nazlıer had an agreement regarding their relationship, that he did not know she was transgender, and that during an argument, Nazlıer hit the mirror, causing the glass to break, and that he attacked her with the glass shards, fleeing when he was covered in blood.
SUSPECT ARRESTED
Aref Elhusseın, who was sent to the courthouse, was arrested for the crime of 'intentional murder,' while H.İ. and H.H. were released after their statements. Security cameras captured moments when the suspect covered his head with a cloth to avoid being recognized while fleeing the area after the incident.
INDICTMENT PREPARED
In the prepared indictment, Aref Elhusseın, whose defense was also included, claimed that the victim he confessed to killing had sexually assaulted him. Following this claim, a decision was made by the Antalya 2nd Criminal Court of Peace to conduct an internal body examination of the suspect. The examination found no evidence of sexual assault. It was stated that the defendant's claim was aimed at evading the crime. The prosecution requested that the defendant be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for the crimes of 'intentional murder with monstrous feelings and robbery with a weapon in a residence.' The indictment was accepted by the Antalya 4th High Criminal Court.
