Following this development, journalist İsmail Saymaz's past allegations regarding Bozbey's nepotism resurfaced; discussions about appointments of nephews and sisters-in-law drew attention.

57 suspects, including Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, were detained as part of an investigation into "establishing and managing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes, being a member of an organization established for the purpose of committing crimes, bribery, laundering assets derived from crime, and causing urban pollution."

While this development has resonated widely in the public, journalist İsmail Saymaz's allegations about the detained Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, which he raised in previous years, have come back to the agenda.

"HE APPOINTED HIS NEPHEW TO A CRITICAL COMPANY"

Saymaz stated, "Municipalities run by the CHP are resorting to managing the municipalities they have won with their relatives, close ones, and supporters. The most recent example of this is the Bursa incident. In Bursa, Mustafa Bozbey was about to appoint his nephew to the head of a critical company. We objected, the objections were successful, and he backed down. However, it doesn't end with just the nephew.

"HE MADE HIS SISTER-IN-LAW THE DEPARTMENT HEAD"

In Bursa, the mayor made his sister-in-law the department head as well. There is no step back there, is there? No. Because he had previously made her a director at the Nilüfer Municipality and moved her here from Nilüfer.

"IT IS ALLEGED THAT OTHER RELATIVES HAVE ALSO BEEN APPOINTED"
