Within the scope of the Alihan Kuris criminal organization investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the first wave operation was carried out on August 13. In line with the new evidence and findings obtained by deepening the investigation, the second wave operation was carried out on August 21.
12 SUSPECTS CAPTURED IN THE SECOND WAVE OPERATION
According to the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, proceedings were initiated against 13 suspects within the scope of the efforts carried out in Istanbul, Konya, Mersin and Mugla. In this context, 12 suspects were captured, and it was stated that efforts to capture 1 suspect continue.
The details of the operation have also begun to emerge. Ankara police financial branch police conducted simultaneous operations at 14 residences and 6 workplaces in Ankara, Istanbul, Konya and Mersin.
RELEASED AFTER BEING FOUND TO BE MENTALLY DISABLED
In Istanbul, 7 out of 8 suspects were captured, while it was determined that 1 suspect was abroad. While it was understood that Ali Kovan, captured in Mersin, was 50% mentally disabled according to his current health reports; after the statement process was completed, he was released upon the instruction of the public prosecutor. It was learned that Irfan Yilmaz, captured in Istanbul, was taken under treatment at the hospital due to health problems.
SEIZED MONEY AND GOLD LEFT PEOPLE SPEECHLESS
In the searches conducted at the residences and workplaces of the suspects; a significant amount of cash and foreign currency was confiscated, totaling 1,873,500 TL, 603,151 US dollars and 36,110 Euros. Additionally; 34 bracelets, 17 pieces of 22-gram gold, 7 full gold coins, 6 half gold coins, 103 quarter gold coins, 1 piece of 50-gram 24-karat gold, 91 pieces of 24-karat gold, 1 piece of 20-gram 24-karat gold, 2 pieces of 10-gram gold, 5 pieces of 5-gram gold were seized.
UNOPENABLE STEEL SAFE SEIZED
In the searches conducted within the scope of the operation; 265 checks, 9 mobile phones, and 1 laptop were seized. The seized phones and computers were taken for digital examination in order to determine the organization's financial and commercial relations, money movements, company connections, and contacts between suspects.
During the searches, 1 steel safe was also detected. The said safe, which could not be opened during the operation, was seized.
