In the Adapazarı district of Sakarya, a traffic argument between a car driver, who is a public prosecutor, and a minibus driver was captured on a vehicle camera. The Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated legal proceedings against the prosecutor for obstructing the movement of vehicles, simple assault, and insult. It was also stated that an investigation was launched into the minibus driver.
A dispute between a Republic prosecutor and a minibus driver in traffic in Sakarya was captured on a vehicle camera. The Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched both judicial and administrative investigations into both parties.
PROSECUTOR AND MINIBUS DRIVER GOT INTO A FIGHT The incident occurred yesterday in the Karaman neighborhood of the Adapazarı district. A verbal argument broke out in traffic between minibus driver S.K. and car driver B.Y.Ç. The argument was captured on the minibus's vehicle camera. B.Y.Ç. was revealed to be a Republic prosecutor working at the Sakarya Courthouse. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED AGAINST THE PROSECUTOR A written statement from the Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on the matter included the following:
"Regarding the incident that occurred in traffic on June 10, 2026, in the Adapazarı district of Sakarya province, which started between a Republic prosecutor and a minibus driver and later involved other individuals, an investigation was immediately initiated by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Within the scope of the investigation, statements from the parties have been taken, camera recordings and other evidence have been examined, and necessary legal actions have been taken against the individuals involved in the incident. In terms of the allegations made against the Republic prosecutor named B.Y.Ç., legal proceedings have also been initiated for the crimes of 'Obstruction of Movement of Transportation Vehicles', 'Simple Assault', and 'Insult' under Article 93 of Law No. 2802 on Judges and Prosecutors, without any privilege, within the same investigation file."
Furthermore, the statement indicating that a judicial and administrative investigation was launched against the Republic prosecutor on various charges stated:
"Within the scope of the regulation in Article 46/4 of the Highway Traffic Law No. 2918 regarding the act of 'Persistently following another vehicle with intent to attack or getting out of the vehicle for this purpose in traffic', procedures have also been initiated for the application of an administrative sanction against the Republic prosecutor. The investigation is being meticulously conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in all aspects, within the framework of the principles of impartiality and the rule of law, and developments will be shared with the public."
