In Samsun, an auto mechanic subjected his 65-year-old customer, who had applied to the Consumer Arbitration Committee claiming he was overcharged unfairly, to a horrifying ordeal. The suspect mechanic poured a teapot full of boiling tea on the elderly man he encountered at the buffet and then assaulted him. He was arrested and sent to prison by the court he was brought before.
An incident that occurred yesterday on Kutlukent Boulevard in the Şabanoğlu neighborhood of Samsun's Tekkeköy district left people saying 'this is too much.' A dispute over a vehicle repair escalated, and the mechanic set his customer on fire.
CLAIM OF 4,500 LIRA OVERCHARGE
According to information obtained, the chain of events began when 65-year-old Kazım K. left his vehicle at the auto repair shop owned by 49-year-old İ.K. in April. After the repairs were completed, Kazım K. paid İ.K. 13,000 lira. However, he later discovered during a market survey that he had been charged an extra 4,500 lira.
RESORTED TO THE ARBITRATION COMMITTEE WHEN UNABLE TO GET HIS MONEY BACK
The elderly man contacted the shop owner İ.K. to demand a refund of the overpaid amount but received a negative response. Seeking his rights through legal channels, Kazım K. filed a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Committee.
THEY MET AT A BUFFET, HE POURED THE TEAPOT ON HIM
The tension between the parties escalated yesterday when they coincidentally encountered each other at a buffet directly across from the repair shop. The verbal argument over the money issue and the complaint quickly flared up. The mechanic İ.K., unable to control his temper, grabbed a teapot filled with boiling hot tea and mercilessly poured it over Kazım K. Not content with that, the furious mechanic then began to beat the elderly man burning from the hot tea.
THE UNFORTUNATE MAN IS IN THE BURN CENTER, THE ATTACKER IS IN PRISON
With intervention from nearby citizens and their report, police and medical teams were swiftly dispatched to the scene. Kazım K., who suffered serious burns on various parts of his body from the spilled hot tea, was taken to the Burn Center at Samsun City Hospital for treatment after initial first aid.
Following the incident, the attacker İ.K. was caught red-handed by police and taken into custody. After processing at the police station, he was referred to the Samsun Courthouse today. The suspect, brought before the duty court, was arrested on charges of intentional injury and sent to Samsun T-Type Closed Prison.
