A new wave of attacks escalating tensions in the occupied West Bank occurred; Jewish settlers set fire to two mosques near Ramallah and carved racist slogans on the walls. Following the organized attacks on holy sites, a clash broke out in the region, and a strong statement from Hamas conveyed the message, "These Zionist crimes will not go unpunished."
SIMULTANEOUS MIDNIGHT ARSON
In the occupied West Bank region of Palestine, Jewish settlers set fire to two mosques last night, writing racist and provocative slogans on the walls of one of the places of worship.
The intensity of attacks carried out by Jewish settlers across the West Bank is increasing day by day. Most recently, two mosques in the towns of Jaljulye and Mezraa el-Nubani, north of Ramallah, became targets of the settlers.
PUBLIC RESISTED, ISRAELI ARMY INTERVENED
According to information obtained from security sources; a group of Jewish settlers entered the Great Mosque in the town of Jaljulye, started a fire, and scrawled provocative, racist slogans on the walls of the building.
Tensions escalated in the area after Palestinian residents confronted the Jewish settlers attempting to burn the mosque. Subsequently, Israeli forces raided the town and used tear gas and stun grenades against the Palestinians. No injuries were reported in the altercation.
ATTACKS CONTINUE IN AN ORGANIZED MANNER
Security sources reported that in another attack in the town of Mezraa el-Nubani, settlers raided the El-Faruk Mosque and set the building on fire.
The fire caused extensive material damage to the mosque. Sources noted that these latest incidents occurred shortly after six Israeli settlers announced two days ago that they had set fire to mosque entrances and vehicles in other villages in the Ramallah area.
