A dispute that started on social media between two friends aged 16 and 17 in Başakşehir turned into a street fight. In the fight, which involved a hammer and a knife, 16-year-old Kudbettin Berat Çimenli lost his life. The suspect, Kağan İ., who fled the scene, was quickly apprehended by the police, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated.
In Başakşehir, Istanbul, a fight that started with two friends aged 16 and 17 exchanging insults on social media ended in murder. During the fight, which took place when the friends encountered each other on the street and attacked each other with a hammer and a knife, Kudbettin Berat Çimenli (16) lost his life. It was learned that Kağan İ., who was taken into custody, stated in his testimony, "First, he hit me with a hammer, and I tried to defend myself."
ONE USED A KNIFE, THE OTHER A HAMMER
The incident occurred around 2:00 PM yesterday in the Şahintepe neighborhood, where Kudrettin Berat Çimenli and Kağan İ. encountered each other in front of a market on the street and fought for an unknown reason. According to the information obtained, while Kağan İ. struck with a hammer, Kudrettin Berat Çimenli attacked with a knife. Those who witnessed the fight notified the police and medical teams.
HE COULD NOT BE SAVED
Kudrettin Berat Çimenli, who was seriously injured, was taken to Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Hospital after the first intervention by the medical teams that arrived at the scene, while Kağan İ. fled the scene on foot. Despite all the interventions at the hospital, Çimenli lost his life, while Kağan İ. was caught by the police shortly after.
"I DID IT TO DEFEND MYSELF," HE SAID
During the interrogation of the suspect at the police station, it was learned that he stated they had argued for an unknown reason on social media and that they fought when they encountered each other on the day of the incident. The suspect explained that he hit his friend on the head with a hammer and that he swung his knife randomly to defend himself.
