A bloody reckoning took place on January 4th on 72056 Street in the Tellidere neighborhood of the Seyhan district in Adana. According to allegations, a feud began between Mahmut Ayta, who operates a bar in the city, and his neighbor Mehmet Y. due to a previous fight. On the day of the incident, in the morning hours, Efecan K. came to return the key after closing the bar operated by Mahmut Ayta. At that moment, he encountered Mehmet Y. who was on his way home.

"YOU THREW A BEER BOTTLE" FIGHT

As Mehmet Y. passed by, he threw a beer bottle at Efecan K. It was claimed that Efecan K. responded, "What’s up brother, did you throw that at us?" A dispute began between Efecan K. and Mehmet Y., and Mahmut Ayta, who heard the commotion, also came downstairs. In the ensuing fight between the two groups, Efecan K. was stabbed in the hand. As the fight escalated, Mehmet Y. went home and retrieved his gun.

FIRED 8 SHOTS

Mehmet Y. fired 8 shots at Mahmut Ayta's head with his gun. During this time, Efecan K. jumped on Mehmet Y. and took the gun from him. Efecan K. then shot Mehmet Y. in the stomach and leg with the gun he had taken. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon reports from the surrounding people. Medical teams determined in their initial checks that Mahmut Ayta had lost his life.

CAUGHT RED-HANDED

Mehmet Y., his employee Salihcan A., and Mahmut Ayta's employee Efecan K. fled the scene. Police teams that arrived at the scene cordoned off the streets. As a result of the operations, Mehmet Y., Salihcan A., and Efecan K. were caught in nearby streets.

"MY INTENTION WAS NOT TO KILL," HE SAID

Ayta's body was taken to the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after examinations. After the autopsy conducted there, his funeral was buried. Mehmet Y., who was taken to the hospital, was brought to the police station after his treatment.

It was learned that Mehmet Y., who killed Mahmut Ayta, stated in his testimony, "My intention was not to kill, it was to protect myself, and I don't fully remember the incident as I was under the influence of alcohol." After his procedures at the police station, Mehmet Y., Salihcan A., and Efecan K. were arrested by the court to which they were referred.
