The art world has turned its back on Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, whose administration was returned to the CHP management by a decision of absolute nullity. After Sabahat Akkiraz, Selda Bağcan, Suavi, and Onur Akın, Edip Akbayram's family also issued a statement. Türkü Akbayram announced that they do not permit the works performed by Edip Akbayram to be used in political events by individuals, groups, or organizations perceived as representatives or supporters of the "absolute nullity" process.

Reactions from the art world to the "absolute nullity" process within CHP are growing. Following Onur Akın, Suavi, and Sabahat Akkiraz, Edip Akbayram's family has also made a striking statement regarding the controversies. Speaking on behalf of the family, Türkü Akbayram announced that they do not permit the works interpreted by Edip Akbayram to be used in political events by individuals and groups seen in the public eye as representatives or supporters of the "absolute nullity" process.

"WE DO NOT ALLOW"

In the statement, it was noted that Edip Akbayram was an artist who believed in democracy, freedom, the will of the people, and social justice throughout his life. Türkü Akbayram expressed that the process known in the public as "absolute nullity" and the accompanying developments do not align with the democratic understanding that Edip Akbayram advocated.

Akbayram stated that, therefore, they do not permit the works interpreted by Edip Akbayram to be used in political events by individuals, groups, and organizations seen as representatives or supporters of the said process.

"EDIP AKBAYRAM'S ART AND LEGACY MUST BE PRESERVED WITH HIS PRINCIPLES"

The statement emphasized that Edip Akbayram's art and legacy should be preserved in harmony with the principles and values he defended for years. The family stated that they expect this sensitivity to be met with understanding by the public.

The full statement is as follows:

“We, on behalf of the people's artist, our dear husband and father Edip Akbayram, wish to share this brief statement with the public due to the necessity we have seen.

We are carefully and sadly following the developments in our country, especially the recent events within the Republican People's Party (CHP).

Edip Akbayram was an artist who believed in democracy, freedom, the will of the people, and social justice throughout his life, and produced his art in line with these values. This stance, which he maintained uncompromisingly for years, has been one of the fundamental principles not only of his art but also of his life.

In this context, we wish to express that we believe the process known in the public as 'absolute nullity' and the accompanying developments do not align with the democratic understanding that Edip Akbayram defended throughout his life. It is not possible for us to ignore the concerns, grievances, and sensitivities regarding democracy that resonate with large segments of society.

Therefore, we declare that we do not permit the works interpreted by Edip Akbayram to be used in political events by individuals, groups, and organizations seen in the public as representatives or supporters of the 'absolute nullity' process, and we bring this to the public's attention. Our sensitivity is that Edip Akbayram's art and legacy should be preserved in harmony with the principles and values he defended for years. We respectfully submit this to the understanding and appreciation of the public.”

LIVANELI: 'I DO NOT ALLOW MY COMPOSITIONS TO BE USED'

Artist Zülfü Livaneli stated in his social media account, 'I do not allow the current CHP headquarters, which came through nullity, to use my compositions.'

BAGCAN: I DO NOT ALLOW

A statement also came from artist Selda Bağcan imposing a 'ban' on the use of her works by Kılıçdaroğlu's team. In her statement on social media, Bağcan used the following expressions:

"I do not allow the current CHP headquarters, which came through nullity, to use my voice, compositions, and recordings in any event, broadcast, or political work."
