As part of the 'Drug' investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the assets of Muzaffer Yıldırım, the owner of Bebek Hotel, who was arrested on January 7, 2026, were seized by the decision of the Istanbul 8th Criminal Court of Peace due to findings that they were obtained from the crime and that the income was laundered.

A statement regarding the matter was made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The statement included the following: "In the investigation numbered 2026/13211 conducted by the Terrorism Financing Prevention and Money Laundering Crime Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, due to serious evidence that the assets of the suspect Muzaffer Yıldırım were obtained from the crime and that the income in question was laundered, it has been decided to uphold the ex officio seizure decision given by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on 09.02.2026, by the decision of the Istanbul 8th Criminal Court of Peace dated 09.02.2026 and numbered 2026/885."
