One of the world's largest automotive companies, Ford, has urgently recalled 33,000 of its vehicles due to a problem with the fuel injectors. The company, which issued the recall for the 2020-2022 Ford Escape and 2021-2023 Ford Bronco Sport models, warned that the vehicles could catch fire while being driven on the road.

One of the most preferred car brands in the world, Ford, has issued a recall for 33,000 vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that there is a cracked issue with the fuel injector in two popular vehicles, which could cause gas around the engine to ignite. The recall covers the 2020-2022 Ford Escape and the 2021-2023 Ford Bronco Sport.

Officials stated that this is not the first warning regarding the injector issue, noting that the 33,576 recalled vehicles are actually part of two previous recalls that did not properly address the damage.

WHY IS THE FUEL INJECTOR IMPORTANT?

The fuel injector, which is an important part of gasoline-powered cars, serves as a small nozzle that sprays gasoline into the vehicle's engine. When the fuel injector cracks, gasoline can start to drip onto other parts of the engine, which can be excessively hot while the vehicle is running. If the engine parts where gasoline is sprayed are very hot, or if there is even the slightest spark from the vehicle's electrical system, the gasoline can ignite and cause a fire.

NOTIFICATION TO BE SENT ON APRIL 24

Drivers will receive notification by mail on April 24. Ford will address the cracks in the vehicles and will update the powertrain control module software of each vehicle free of charge.

WARNING: VEHICLES MAY CATCH FIRE

Officials warned that some Ford Escapes produced between 2020 and 2022 could catch fire due to cracked fuel injectors. Bronco Sports from 2021 to 2023 have also been recalled. Vehicle owners are advised that failing to address the repair is an extremely dangerous mistake. Ford will also update the software of those who return their vehicles. Regarding the new fuel injector recall, any driver concerned that their vehicle may be affected can call Ford at 1-866-436-7332 and mention recall number 25S21.
