Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the toll of traffic accidents that occurred during the first five days of the Ramadan Bayram holiday. On the fifth day of the holiday, 13 people lost their lives, while 959 were injured. A total of 47 citizens lost their lives during the holiday period.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the toll of traffic accidents that occurred during the first 4 days of the Ramadan Bayram holiday, which started on Saturday.

Minister Yerlikaya stated, "On the 5th day of the Ramadan Bayram holiday (Wednesday), 583 traffic accidents occurred. Unfortunately, 13 of our citizens lost their lives, and 959 citizens were injured. We lost 13 more lives. The smile of a child, the prayer of a mother, the wait of a father has been left incomplete. Please obey traffic rules. Let our holiday joys not be mixed with sorrow. The roads are there to bring us together, not to separate us," he said.

47 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES

Yerlikaya said, "Unfortunately, during the first 5 days of the holiday (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), 47 of our citizens lost their lives, and 5,743 citizens were injured."

HALF A MILLION VEHICLES INSPECTED ON THE 5TH DAY OF THE HOLIDAY

Yerlikaya continued his statement: "During the 9-day Ramadan Bayram holiday, our police and gendarmerie traffic teams are continuing their inspections. On the 5th day of the holiday, April 2, 2025, Wednesday, our traffic teams inspected 535,044 vehicles. Speed and radar operations were conducted on 20,782 vehicles, and other operations were carried out on 36,258 vehicles."
