As the 36th day of the US-Israel attacks on Iran begins, developments in the last 24 hours have changed the course of the war; it was reported that two US fighter jets were shot down, and heavy losses were incurred during the rescue operation. ONE OF THE HARDEST DAYS IN US HISTORY
The US military lost two active-duty fighter jets for the first time since the beginning of operations. Iranian forces shot down an F-15 and an A-10 fighter jet. It was also reported that the helicopter sent to rescue the pilots was targeted.
While the US side acknowledged the aircraft losses, it announced that the personnel on the helicopter were safe.
OPERATION FOR PILOTS: HEAVY LOSSES INCURRED
Meanwhile, US soldiers entered Iranian territory to rescue the pilots. However, it was claimed that the US side suffered heavy losses during the clashes with Iranian forces. No official confirmation has been made regarding this issue.
CRISIS WITHIN THE MILITARY
Another striking claim within the US military was the "mission refusal" crisis. More than 12 generals who refused to participate in operations against Iran were dismissed. This development led to comments about serious disagreements within the military.
IRAN REJECTED CEASEFIRE
On the other hand, the US proposed a 48-hour ceasefire, but Iran categorically rejected this offer. The Tehran administration was reported to be closed to a ceasefire through mediators. The US's proposal was also among the claims that it was made to search for pilots and gain time.
13 US SOLDIERS HAVE DIED SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE WAR
The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) officially announced that 13 US soldiers have died and 365 US soldiers have been injured in the war that began with the attacks on Iran by the US and Israel on February 28.
ISRAEL CANCELLED PLANNED ATTACKS ON IRAN
According to a report by the US-based Axios news platform citing an Israeli official, the Tel Aviv administration allegedly made this decision to avoid disrupting search and rescue operations.
Meanwhile, the official speaking to Axios claimed that one of the two crew members of the US fighter jet shot down in Iran was rescued by US special forces.
IRAN STRUCK ISRAEL AT NIGHT
In a new wave of attacks, Iran targeted Israel's central and southern regions, including the capital Tel Aviv, with multi-warhead missiles. As a result of missiles or debris falling from Iran, the exterior of an apartment building in the city of Roš Haayin was damaged. A fire broke out in the building.
In Tel Aviv, minor damage occurred in some areas of the city due to munitions debris. Additionally, a fire broke out at an industrial facility in the Negev region.
