In the accident resulting from the collision of a military helicopter and a passenger plane in the United States, the black boxes of the downed passenger plane have been found. The National Transportation Safety Board announced that the flight data and cockpit voice recorders of the aircraft have been sent to the laboratory for examination.
The passenger plane carrying 60 passengers and 4 crew members collided in the air with a military helicopter carrying 3 personnel near Ronald Reagan Airport, close to Washington, D.C., and fell into the Potomac River. While U.S. police announced that there were no survivors from the crashed plane and helicopter, a new development has emerged regarding the mysterious accident.
BLACK BOXES OF THE PLANE FOUND
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) announced that the black boxes of the crashed passenger plane have been found. The statement said, "NTSB investigators recovered the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder of the Bombardier CRJ700 involved in the plane crash that occurred in D.C. yesterday. The recorders are being evaluated at NTSB laboratories."
TRUMP BLAMES THE TOWER
After the accident that shook the U.S., President Donald Trump blamed the control tower. In a post on his Truth Social account regarding the accident, Trump stated, "The plane was on a perfect and routine approach to the airport. The helicopter was heading towards the plane for a long time. It was a clear night, and the plane's lights were on; why didn’t the helicopter go up or down or turn? Why didn’t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane? This looks like a bad situation that should have been prevented. Not good!"
"NO SURVIVORS IN THE ACCIDENT"
Trump stated during a press conference at the White House that there were no survivors in the accident and expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. Trump said, "We are very, very sorry for those who have loved ones on the passenger plane. We can only imagine the pain you feel. It couldn’t be worse. On behalf of the First Lady, myself, and 340 million Americans, our hearts are shattered with you. Our prayers are with you, and we will work very, very hard in the coming days."
