While some religious officials explained that those who broke their fast early should observe a make-up fast one day after Eid al-Fitr, Gömeç Mufti Mehmet Ali Bal noted that the call to prayer was recited within the precautionary time and stated that there was no need to repeat the fast.

THE CALL TO PRAYER WAS INTERRUPTED, THE RAMADAN CANNON WAS FIRED
The officials at Kocacami in Burhaniye recited the evening call to prayer 3 minutes early from the central system. When the official started reciting the call to prayer at 19:00, he interrupted it upon being warned by those next to him, while a municipal official who heard the call to prayer fired the Ramadan cannon. Meanwhile, many citizens broke their fast. When the call to prayer was recited again 3 minutes later, the mistake became apparent. The early recitation of the call to prayer became the topic of the day in the district.

Many citizens called the mufti's office, while religious officials explained that those who broke their fast early needed to fast for an additional day at the end of Ramadan. Gömeç Mufti and Burhaniye Deputy Mufti Mehmet Ali Bal, who made a statement on the matter, said, "According to the statements of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, there is a 3-minute precautionary time for the evening call to prayer. Since the duration here does not exceed 3 minutes, the fasts are valid. Therefore, there is no need to make up for it."
