The preliminary autopsy report has been released regarding the death of former muhtar Sadık Savurtaş, whose lifeless body was found in a water barrel in a hazelnut orchard in Izmit. The report determined that the former muhtar died "of natural causes." It is believed that Savurtaş suffered a stroke while working in the field and headed towards the water barrel to wash his hands or face when he passed away.
Last night, relatives of former Eseler Neighborhood Muhtar Sadık Savurtaş (64), who lives in the Eseler Neighborhood of İzmit district in Kocaeli, reported him missing after they could not reach him. Upon the notification, teams dispatched to the area began search efforts for Savurtaş.
DEAD BODY FOUND IN THE BARREL
After a while, Savurtaş's lifeless body was found in a water barrel. Following the work of the crime scene investigation teams, the former muhtar's body was taken to the forensic medicine institution's morgue for an autopsy.
CAUSE OF DEATH REVEALED
It was learned that Savurtaş had previously had one kidney removed and had health issues, and it was understood that he had no enmity with anyone. During the preliminary autopsy, it was determined that Sadık Savurtaş's death was due to "natural causes."
A POSSIBILITY IS BEING CONSIDERED
It is considered that Savurtaş may have collapsed while working in the field and headed towards the water barrel to wash his hand or face, and that he died due to a "stroke" and "fell" into the water barrel. His death has saddened his loved ones, and Savurtaş's funeral was buried today after the funeral prayer held at Eseler Mosque following the noon prayer.
