The economic management conducting the minimum wage negotiations is also continuing its work on the salary increase for retirees and civil servants. Following the 5-month inflation difference to be paid to SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, the amounts for the collective bargaining share and additional payments to be given to civil servants and civil servant retirees have been determined.
Millions of retirees and civil servants in Turkey, whose purchasing power is gradually decreasing due to high inflation, are focused on the salary increases to be made in the new year. Data announced as of December shows that the rate of increase to be applied in January is largely becoming clear.
CALCULATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE
While the inflation difference for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees is calculated as 11.20%, it is expected that the January increase will reach around 12.30% with the addition of the last month's data. However, it is stated that the government will only reflect the inflation difference in salaries without providing a welfare share this year as well. The economic management has closed the door to welfare share demands on the grounds of "keeping inflation under control."
17.57% INCREASE AND 1,000 TL ADDITIONAL PAYMENT
For civil servants and retired civil servants, the collective bargaining increase and inflation difference are evaluated together. Accordingly, it is anticipated that civil servants will receive an increase of approximately 17.57% in January, and an additional payment of 1,000 TL will be reflected in their salaries.
HOW MUCH WILL THE LOWEST RETIREMENT SALARY BE?
The determined increase rate will also directly affect the lowest retirement salary. Due to the regulation that the inflation increase is only applied to base salaries, it is on the agenda that the lowest retirement salary will rise to approximately 19,000 TL with the regulation expected to be presented to the Parliament in January.
ALL EYES TURNED TO JANUARY 3
On the other hand, with the clarification of the increase rates, new salaries for some civil servant titles have also emerged. It is expected that salaries in many professions, such as branch manager, teacher, police officer, engineer, doctor, and academician, will start from 60,000 TL and rise up to 150,000 TL. The exact increase rates will be officially announced with the inflation data for December, which will be released on January 3.
The expected 17.57% increase and 1,000 TL additional payment for civil servants will highlight the following salaries in some titles:
