The Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office requested from the relevant institutions the MASAK reports, bank account transactions, and SGK records of all delegates who voted at the 38th Ordinary Congress of the CHP and their first-degree relatives.
Following the 'absolute nullity' decision of the Ankara Regional Administrative Court 36th Civil Chamber regarding the 38th Ordinary Congress held on November 4-5, 2023, and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's return to the chairmanship, debates within the CHP continue.
CHIEF PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE TAKES ACTION
Most recently, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau sent a letter to the Supreme Election Council (YSK) Presidency, the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), and the Social Security Institution (SGK) concerning the 38th CHP Ordinary Congress.
With this letter, MASAK reports, bank account transactions, and SGK records of all delegates who voted in the congress and their first-degree relatives were requested from the relevant institutions.
'ABSOLUTE NULLITY' DECISION IN CHP
The Ankara Regional Court of Appeal 36th Civil Chamber issued an 'absolute nullity' decision for the 38th Ordinary Congress held on November 4-5, 2023, in which Özgür Özel was elected as Chairman. With this decision, Özgür Özel and his administration were temporarily removed from their duties, while former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his administration were reinstated.
The court decision included the following statements: "With the decision of provisional removal from duty of Chairman Özgür Özel, members of the Central Executive Board, members of the Party Assembly, and members of the High Disciplinary Board, who assumed office through the congress of November 4-5, 2023, which is invalid due to absolute nullity, and with the provisional assumption of duty and reinstatement of Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, as well as the members of the Party Assembly and the High Disciplinary Board who held office prior to the congress of November 4-5, 2023, until the decision becomes final."
