An indictment has been prepared regarding the gang responsible for the neglect that led to the deaths of 12 babies admitted to the intensive care unit of a private hospital. The indictment, which includes 47 suspects, requests a 266-year prison sentence for Doctor Fırat Sarı. A while ago, an investigation was launched regarding the claim that 12 babies were admitted to the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Istanbul without necessity and died due to neglect. The prosecutor Y.E., who is conducting the investigation, was threatened in his office. The Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation into the incident. The indictment against 47 suspects was prepared by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The indictment includes phone conversations showing how the suspects transferred the babies to contracted hospitals. If the indictment, which is currently under evaluation by the Bakırköy 22nd High Criminal Court, is accepted, the suspects will begin to be tried in the coming days. PROCESS OF TRANSFERRING BABIES TO HOSPITALIn the indictment, it was stated that Dr. Fırat Sarı, along with his employee Dr. İlker G., acted in collaboration with Gıyasettin M., the ambulance driver from the 112 Emergency Call Center, Fehmi A., who made patient transfers, and Serdar Y., who handled out-of-town patient transfers, for the transfer of babies to contracted private hospitals. It was revealed that they discovered baby patients who were born in private hospitals and whose treatment was deemed appropriate to be carried out in other hospitals due to the workload, thanks to the criminal organization they established with Renas K., who works in the Health Services of Esenyurt Municipality, and sent them for treatment to their contracted hospitals. After convincing the family, it was stated that a procedure called treatment refusal was performed for the baby patient, and they obtained a provision number from the 112 Emergency Call Center without prior notification, making it appear as if the baby was being transferred to a hospital for the first time, thus ensuring entry from the emergency department of one of the contracted hospitals within the organization and obtaining financial benefits. In the epicrisis report prepared by the physician for the patient, reports EK-3 and EK-7 are filled out, reported to the hospital's ASKOM personnel, and then after a request is created from the 112 Coordination Center of the Public Hospitals Services Presidency (KHHB), a provision number is obtained, and the transfer is made to private hospitals that have been previously notified and are equipped to provide appropriate treatment. This process is carried out in a certain order and sequence to ensure that each hospital receives patients in the same proportion, thus attempting to prevent actions contrary to competitive conditions. "IF I KILL, IT'S A PROBLEM"In the indictment, during a conversation between the suspect Mehtap S., who works as a nurse in one of the private hospitals, and the gang member suspect Hasan Basri G., it was understood that Hasan Basri G. said, "Mehtap, kill the child, can a child with 50 saturation survive?" to which nurse Mehtap S. replied, "I will kill it, but you know it's a problem whether I kill it or not." "PROFESSOR, THEY RAIDED THE HOSPITAL"In a conversation between the gang leader, Doctor Fırat S., and the suspect Ceren Hatice K., Ceren Hatice K. said, "Professor, they came for an inspection from the ministry. They raided, as you know, they are checking everything right now, and I have 28 patients. I mean, normally the number of patients here is 23, that's why," to which Fırat S. replied, "Okay, you already have discharges today, don't you have 3 patients to discharge? Arrange the discharges."
