CHP deputies protested the possible increase in the minimum wage with banners reading, "Our demand for the minimum wage is 30, we will not accept anything below that," during the discussions on the Ministry of Labor and Social Security budget at the TBMM Planning and Budget Commission. Veli Ağbaba, a member of the TBMM Planning and Budget Commission and Malatya Deputy, said, "Survive for a month, not 15 days, not three days with 17 thousand liras. We will accept it too. We want a budget for retirees, minimum wage earners, and civil servants. Those like you, who are well-off, do not understand. Well-off people, listen to the voice of the citizens a little."

"SURVIVE FOR THREE DAYS WITH 17 THOUSAND LIRAS. WE WILL ACCEPT IT TOO"

Veli Ağbaba, a member of the TBMM Planning and Budget Commission and Malatya Deputy, said the following regarding the minimum wage: The minimum wage has become an ordinary wage. We will not accept a minimum wage below 30 thousand. Inflation is at 50 percent. Poverty is skyrocketing. We say to those well-off, who do not know the minimum wage, that the minimum wage should be 30 thousand liras. Survive for a month, not 15 days, not three days with 17 thousand liras. We will accept it too. We want a budget for retirees, minimum wage earners, and civil servants. Those like you, who are well-off, do not understand.
