The CHP referred former Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, who was detained and arrested while in a hotel room with his girlfriend as part of a bribery investigation, to disciplinary action with a request for his expulsion.

A new development has occurred regarding the former Mayor of Uşak, Özkan Yalım, who has been at the center of Turkey's agenda. Yalım, who was detained while in a hotel room with his girlfriend as part of a bribery investigation and subsequently arrested, was also suspended from his position as mayor.

CHP Spokesperson Zeynel Emre announced that it was decided to refer Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, who was arrested as part of the investigation, to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for his expulsion.

"ÖZKAN YALIM HAS BEEN HEARD, A DECISION HAS BEEN MADE"

Zeynel Emre made the following statements:

"In our last MYK meeting as the CHP, it was unanimously decided to initiate a disciplinary process in the MYK after the operation against Uşak Municipality and the detention of our mayor, as well as the sharing of images that should have remained confidential from that moment on.

In this context, two members of the party council were assigned. Özkan Yalım was heard in prison. All documents and minutes related to him were examined and presented to our General Secretariat as a report. When we look at this report, it was decided that there would be no change in the MYK decision of that day, and that Özkan Yalım would be referred to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for his expulsion and precautionary measures."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım was detained and arrested as part of a 'bribery' investigation. On March 31, he was suspended from his duties by a decision of the Ministry of Interior.

Furthermore, CHP Spokesperson Zeynel Emre announced that Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, who was detained, was referred to disciplinary action. Emre stated, "As the MYK, it was decided to suspend Özkan Yalım's membership, to assign two legal experts, and then to conduct a disciplinary process by listening to what Özkan Yalım has to say, regardless of what decision is made."

As part of the process, the Uşak Governorship announced that the election for the deputy mayor to replace the arrested Yalım would be held on April 6 at 14:00 in the Municipal Council Meeting Hall.
