In the armed attack that took place at Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Siverek district of Şanlıurfa on April 14, 16 people, including 4 teachers and 10 students, were injured. In Ayser Çalık Middle School located in Onikişubat district, 8th-grade student İsa Aras Mersinli came to his school with 5 guns and 7 magazines belonging to his father, a retired police chief, and carried out an attack. In the incident targeting two classrooms, mathematics teacher Ayla Kara and 8 students lost their lives, and 17 people were injured.
