In the crisis during the election for the acting mayor to replace Ali Demirçalı, the suspended mayor of Yüreğir district in Adana, the Adana 2nd Administrative Court assigned the duty to AK Party member Tarık Özünal after the repeated elections. CHP member Cafer Boyraz objected to the court decision.

Following the objection to the acting mayor election, in which CHP member Cafer Boyraz was elected to replace Ali Demirçalı, who was suspended from the position of Mayor of Yüreğir in Adana, the court announced its decision. The court awarded the acting mayor position to AK Party's candidate Tarık Özünal. Provincial Chairman Orhan Bayram, speaking on behalf of the CHP group who objected to the decision, said, "Nothing is over. Our struggle on this matter will continue."
