Efforts to intervene in the fire that started in the forested area around 17:00 on Sunday in the Hacılar neighborhood and spread to Bilecik yesterday are ongoing.

FOREST FIRE CONTINUES IN SAKARYA

Due to the air temperatures being above seasonal norms, teams are intervening in the rising flames in the forested areas of the upper parts of the neighborhoods of Taşoluk, Kozan, Bozören, and Bayat in Geyve, Sakarya.

DESTRUCTION CAPTURED FROM THE AIR

The flames are being extinguished with the help of helicopters taking water from the Sakarya River passing through the region, in an effort to prevent them from growing and spreading. Fire trucks from Sakarya and surrounding provinces, as well as water tankers belonging to the General Directorate of Forestry, are also conducting cooling and extinguishing operations in the areas they can reach.

On the other hand, the forested areas that were destroyed due to the fire were captured from the air.
