In his remarks regarding the agenda, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated, "Israel aims to sabotage all these efforts to ensure peace, stability, and security in Syria. Israel intends to divide Syria. Netanyahu's interests lie in dragging the Middle East into chaos. However, as regional countries, we will not allow this."

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held evaluations on current issues during a joint press conference with El Salvador's Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill.
"WE WILL NOT ALLOW THIS"
Regarding the recent events in Syria, Minister Fidan stated, "Israel, which does not want to see a stable country around Suwayda, aims to divide Syria." He added, "Netanyahu's interests lie in dragging the Middle East into chaos. However, as regional countries, we will not allow this. We oppose the disruption of Syria's territorial integrity and stability to the end."
Highlights from Minister Fidan's statements;
"Our institutionalized cooperation is the product of a long-term strategy and vision. We are increasing organizational resources and opportunities for this region. El Salvador holds an important place in our strategic opening towards Latin America and the Caribbean. El Salvador is undergoing a significant transformation process under the leadership of President Bukele. Both the region and the world are closely and curiously following this change.
Significant progress has been made in many areas, especially in the digital economy, in the country. A very serious success has been achieved against gangs. As you know, for many years, first there was a civil war, and then the dominance of gangs, the country was in great chaos. There is a very serious success in this regard.
"TO SIGN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE..."
Turkish companies have significant investments in El Salvador. We aim to further strengthen our economic relations in line with the mutual interests of our peoples. We are continuing our efforts to sign the military framework agreement as soon as possible. This agreement will allow for cooperation in areas such as training and capacity development between the armed forces of the two countries.
EMPHASIS ON DEFENSE INDUSTRY
We also discussed our potential cooperation in the defense industry with my counterpart. We signed a cooperation agreement in the defense industry in April. We are intensifying our efforts in this area. We are also developing our cooperation regarding the development of El Salvador's physical and human infrastructure.
"INTENSE DIPLOMATIC TRAFFIC WILL OCCUR IN ISTANBUL"
This week, there will be intense diplomatic traffic in Istanbul. We will hopefully host the third round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine this week. Our aim here is to ensure that the parties continue to talk to each other. At the same time, we aim to implement confidence-building measures that will yield concrete results on the ground. On Friday, nuclear talks between Iran and Germany, the United Kingdom, and France will again be held in Istanbul. As we always emphasize, we aim to resolve issues related to Iran's nuclear activities through diplomacy.
"WE WILL CONTINUE TO DEFEND THE RIGHTS OF PALESTINIANS"
One of the issues we closely follow in our immediate region is the Gaza issue, which we have continuously emphasized. Last week, the topic was discussed again in the UN Security Council. As I mentioned in my speech there, stopping Israel's genocide policies has now become a common duty of all humanity.
As Turkey, we will continue to defend the rights of Palestinians using all political and legal means. Another area where Israel aims to create instability is Syria, as you know. We have been closely concerned with the developments in the south of the country from the very beginning.
The events took on another dimension with Israel's intervention under the pretext of protecting the Druze. For the past seven months, regional states, as well as the US and European countries, have shown a constructive approach to support the Syrian people.
"ISRAEL AIMS TO DIVIDE SYRIA"
Israel, on the other hand, wants to sabotage all these initiatives aimed at ensuring peace, stability, and security in Syria. Israel aims to divide Syria. Netanyahu's interests lie in dragging the Middle East into chaos. However, as regional countries, we will not allow this. We oppose the disruption of Syria's territorial integrity and stability to the end.
As Turkey, we are also providing support to alleviate the effects of the humanitarian crisis. A mutual prisoner and remains process has begun on the ground. We will not allow a process that would disrupt these efforts to occur again. We will continue to oppose Israel's insidious plans. The main goal of our diplomacy is to increase stability, peace, and prosperity."
