The Ministry of Interior announced that the validity period of old-style driver's licenses will expire on October 31. Drivers can renew their licenses for 15 TL until this date, but after that, they will have to pay 7,438 TL. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya had warned that there would be no extension of the deadline.

The Ministry of Interior announced that the validity period of old-type driver's licenses will expire on October 31, 2025. Citizens who have not yet completed the renewal process will have their licenses invalidated if they do not apply by the specified date.

15 TL UNTIL OCTOBER 31, THEN 7,500 TL

In its statement, the ministry reminded that old-type driver's licenses can be renewed for only 15 TL. After October 31, new fee schedules will apply. Accordingly:

The renewal fee for B class driver's licenses will be 7,438 TL and 60 kuruş,

For A, A1, A2, and F class licenses, it will be 3,643 TL,

For B1, BE, C1, CIE, C, CE, DI, DIE, D, DE, G, and M class licenses, it will be 11,235 TL.

HOW TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR DRIVER'S LICENSE RENEWAL?

Appointments for driver's license renewal can be made through the Alo 199 Call Center, the NVİ mobile application, or the website nvi.gov.tr.

The documents that must be presented during the application are as follows:

  • Old driver's license
  • Driver's health report obtained from an authorized health institution
  • Biometric photo taken within the last 6 months
  • Registered address information in the MERNİS system
  • Receipt proving that the 15 TL application fee has been paid

Applications are made at population directorates, while new type driver's licenses are sent to citizens' addresses via PTT. During the application process, temporary driver's licenses are issued to drivers, and vehicles can be used with this document.

Authorities warned citizens about potential crowds that may occur at population directorates in recent weeks. Drivers are advised to complete their transactions without leaving them to the last day.

MINISTER YERLİKAYA SAID "NO EXTENSION WILL BE GRANTED"

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated in a previous announcement regarding the issue that no extension of the deadline is possible, saying, "I call on our citizens: Please make an appointment at the population directorates and renew our old documents."
