The number of people who lost their lives in the landslides and floods caused by Typhoon Molave, which affected Vietnam, has risen to 262. The typhoon caused extensive damage in the northern part of the country, with 137,000 homes being damaged. UNICEF reported that children affected by the typhoon are in need of urgent assistance.

The number of casualties from landslides and floods caused by the typhoon has risen to 262, according to a statement from the Vietnam Disaster Prevention and Control Department. The statement also mentioned that more than 820 people were injured and 83 people were missing due to the disasters caused by the typhoons. It was reported that after the flood in Nu village, located in the Lao Cai province in the north of the country, all the houses in the village were submerged, and rescue teams continue to search for the missing villagers.

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) reported that many children in Vietnam have lost their homes due to Typhoon Yagi and lack access to clean water and health services. The statement indicated that approximately 2 million children are deprived of education, psychosocial support, and school feeding programs due to damaged schools, power outages, and water shortages. UNICEF estimates that an initial amount of $15 million is needed to meet the critical needs of the affected children and their families.
