Selvi Ürek, the sister of famous singer Fatih Ürek, who passed away last January and plunged the art world into mourning, responded to allegations regarding his inheritance. Flatly denying claims of a crisis within the family, Selvi Ürek announced that the proceeds from the sale of the artist's clothes, jewelry, and furs would be donated to education and street animals.
Fatih Ürek, one of the unforgettable names of the entertainment world, known for his song "Hadi Hadi," has left a legacy whose fate has become clear after his passing. His family has taken action to fulfill the famous artist's greatest wish.
HE LOST HIS 170-DAY STRUGGLE FOR LIFE
As recalled, the beloved 59-year-old artist was hospitalized after suffering a sudden heart attack at home on October 15, 2025. Ürek, whose heart stopped during initial intervention and was revived after 20 minutes of cardiac massage, underwent months of intensive care treatment. The artist, who lost his life on January 30 after a nearly three-month battle, was bid farewell in a tearful ceremony at Karacaahmet Cemetery in Üsküdar.
NOTEWORTHY ASSETS
Following his death, Fatih Ürek's wealth accumulated over years of stage life also came to the forefront. The famous artist's assets, known for his investments, were listed as follows:
- An 800-square-meter mansion in Bodrum Yokuşbaşı valued at approximately 170 million TL.
- 5 apartments in Istanbul Ataşehir.
- A luxury car worth 6 million TL.
- Cash savings in the bank.
- A collection of valuable diamonds and jewelry acquired during his stage career.
Additionally, it was reported behind the scenes that the artist had transferred his shares in a large cafe chain shortly before his death to evaluate other investments.
SELVI UREK, HIS SISTER, PUTS AN END TO THE CLAIMS
In response to recent unfounded news in the press, such as "The inheritance was divided among siblings, jewelry and houses were stolen," Fatih Ürek's sister, Selvi Ürek, broke her silence. Stating that the process is proceeding entirely within a legal framework and there is no issue among the siblings, Selvi Ürek made the following statement:
"Even when we were in the hospital, false news came out about us. They said 'Jewelry, furs, houses, and money were stolen and shared,' but there is absolutely no such thing. We have authorized his own lawyer to manage the process. After the official procedures are completed, the remaining assets will be equally divided among the four legal heirs."
Selvi Ürek also noted that Fatih Ürek had left behind tax and bank debts, adding that most of these debts were paid using the artist's own resources.
POSSESSIONS TO BE SOLD FOR EDUCATION AND ANIMALS
Ürek's sister also provided information about the fate of the personal belongings left from the artist's glamorous stage life.
Ürek continued her statement as follows:
"Yes, he had jewelry. Some were sold, and some we kept as mementos among the siblings. We also set aside items like his glasses and a few bags as keepsakes. However, we will sell all remaining belongings. He has many shoes and stage costumes. We will sell them all and definitely donate to education and partially to animals."
