The process regarding the DEM Party's application to meet with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan at İmralı Prison is ongoing. Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated that a suitable day for the meeting will be determined.

Minister Tunç answered reporters' questions before the budget discussions session in the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). Regarding the face-to-face meeting applications of DEM Party co-chairs Tuncer Bakırhan and Tülay Hatimoğulları with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan at İmralı, Tunç said, "The application petition was on November 26. We received the petition, and as I said at that time, we said 'We are evaluating it.' This process is ongoing. We will have a study regarding the determination of a suitable day. We will inform you of the result, hopefully."

WHAT HAPPENED?

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli stated that he stands behind his call to Öcalan during his party's group meeting, saying, "We expect face-to-face contact between İmralı and the DEM group to be made without delay, and we reiterate our call with determination."
