The suspect, who entered the house to commit theft and killed the elderly couple, confessed to the brutality.

On February 8, Sunday, around 5:00 PM, a brutal incident occurred in the independent duplex house located on Culture Street in the Meşrutiyet neighborhood of Aydın's Efeler district. MOBILE PHONE FOOTAGE CONFIRMED THE TIME OF THE MURDER

Following the incident, a comprehensive investigation was launched by the Aydın Provincial Police Department. The Homicide Bureau teams, who continued their work in and around the house where the murder took place, made progress step by step in clarifying the incident with the statements of many individuals. The teams reached mobile phone camera footage taken in the area on the day of the incident and fortuitously discovered that the entrance door of the house was open, ultimately confirming that the murder occurred between 9:00 and 11:00 AM on February 6, Friday.

"BLUE BAG" DETAIL REVEALED THE BRUTALITY

Focusing their efforts on these hours, the teams reviewed approximately 10,000 hours of camera footage. While suspicious individuals entering the street during the estimated hours of the murder were scrutinized, one of the citizens who was questioned stated that he saw a blue bag in front of the entrance door of the house around 10:00 AM, which caught his attention because it seemed unusual. The "blue bag" detail that emerged after this statement played a key role in solving the murder. Following this, the homicide teams, who re-watched the footage, identified that a person entered the street holding a blue bag at the identified time. After approximately 2 hours, the teams that began to follow the suspect, who was captured again on camera, confirmed that the individual was a foreign national named S.H.

CHANGED ROUTE TO CONFUSE THE TARGET

Upon identifying the suspect, the teams deepened the investigation and found that S.H. had been coming to the street at certain intervals and trying to confuse the target by taking minibuses on different routes. Acting on this information, the teams initiated efforts to capture the suspect. The suspect was apprehended after a brief chase during an operation and was taken into custody, with a search conducted at his residence. S.H., who was taken into custody, confessed to committing the murder in his statement. It was learned that S.H. stated in his testimony that he had seen Turgut Çakaloğlu buying bread at a bakery two weeks before the incident and, upon seeing the money in his pocket, had followed him by collecting scrap and cardboard in the area for about two weeks. After planning and going to the house, S.H. knocked on the door. Upon the door being opened, S.H. quickly entered and attempted to incapacitate the elderly man, but panicked and stabbed him when Turgut Çakaloğlu resisted. Hearing a noise from upstairs, S.H. went upstairs and demanded money from Nuran Çakaloğlu by covering her mouth. After taking a certain amount of money and a gold necklace from the house, S.H. also stabbed Nuran Çakaloğlu when she screamed and fled the scene. It was also learned that the suspect stated in court that he committed the murders in a panic while intending to rob the house.
