President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that the support amounts for the "Yarısı Bizden" campaign, launched to accelerate urban transformation efforts in Istanbul, have been increased. Under the coordination of the Urban Transformation Directorate of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the "Yarısı Bizden" campaign, which was initiated in 2023 and covers all districts of Istanbul, provides support payments including grants, loans, and relocation assistance for citizens wishing to transform their homes. 1. How much are the new support amounts?
The grant for residences, which was previously 700,000 TL, has been increased to 875,000 TL, and the loan support, which was also 700,000 TL, has been raised to 875,000 TL. The relocation assistance of 100,000 TL has been increased to 125,000 TL. Thus, the total support amount for a single home has risen to 1,875,000 TL.
2. How will support for workplaces be provided?
The grant for workplaces, which was 350,000 TL, has been increased to 437,500 TL, and the loan support of 350,000 TL has also been raised to 437,500 TL. The relocation assistance has been updated to 125,000 TL. Thus, the total support amount offered for the transformation of a workplace has reached 1 million TL. Additionally, each right holder will be provided with a loan opportunity of 875,000 TL for each of their other shops.
3. What is the detail about the two-year loans?
Loan payments start two years after obtaining the building permit. The first year of loan payments, which can be up to 10 years, is interest-free, and thereafter, repayments will be updated at half the rate of the CPI. This way, citizens are also relieved regarding payments during the urban transformation process.
4. What is the current status of the "Yarısı Bizden" campaign?
Currently, the construction of 21,000 homes and workplaces is ongoing under the campaign across Istanbul. Additionally, the project process for 41,000 residences is continuing. In addition to the campaign, the ministry is conducting urban transformation in 365 different areas across 39 districts of Istanbul.
5. Is the campaign also valid for Emlak Konut and TOKİ projects?
For large area-based transformations, the Urban Transformation Directorate collaborates with TOKİ and Emlak Konut. Citizens can benefit from the grant support of 875,000 TL in these transformation projects. The construction process is undertaken by TOKİ or Emlak Konut, and the grant is deducted from the building cost. The remaining amount is then financed in installments with long-term, affordable payment conditions. Since 2012, the transformation of 923,000 independent units in the city has been completed, and the process is ongoing for 208,915 independent units.
