After the injection of the drug, the doctor, who fell ill, is fighting for her life in the intensive care unit.
Gynecological Oncology Specialist Şule Gül A. (41) requested a medication from the hospital pharmacy due to a health issue. Allegedly, instead of a muscle relaxant, a similarly named drug used in general anesthesia was prescribed from two medications listed one below the other in the medication request system. Neither the doctor who issued the prescription, nor the pharmacist, nor the nurse who administered the drug noticed this critical error.
FIGHTING FOR LIFE IN INTENSIVE CARE
After the injection of the drug used in general anesthesia instead of the muscle relaxant, Aydın's condition suddenly worsened. Health teams intervened and intubated the doctor, transferring her to intensive care. Şule Gül Aydın's life-threatening condition continues as her treatment proceeds in the intensive care unit. A judicial and administrative investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
