In the Kepez district of Antalya, 21 children who entered the tunnels of a drainage project carried out by the municipality prompted the intervention of fire and police teams. After the children exited the tunnel, the teams discovered a single bed inside.
21 children who entered the drainage tunnels in an area where the municipality was conducting drainage work in Antalya alarmed the police and fire teams. After approximately 1 hour of searching, it was determined that the children had exited the tunnel before the teams arrived, and a single bed was found inside. It was established that the iron wires at the entrance of the tunnel drains had been bent open by an unidentified adult or adults.
21 CHILDREN ENTERED DRAINAGE TUNNELS
The incident occurred yesterday afternoon in the Habipler neighborhood of the Kepez district, in an area where the Kepez Municipality was conducting drainage work to prevent flooding and inundation. According to the information obtained, those who saw the children entering the drainage tunnels reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the notification, police and fire teams were dispatched to the scene.
Teams that arrived at the specified address received information that 21 children of young age had exited from the tunnels. Fire teams conducted a search for control purposes in three drainage tunnels, approximately 600 meters long. No other children were found during the searches, but some footprints were discovered.
A SINGLE BED WAS FOUND
It was determined that the entrance of the tunnel drains had previously been closed with iron wires and had been bent open by an unidentified adult or adults. Additionally, a single bed was found inside as a result of the search. After the search operations were completed, the teams returned to normal, while the municipal teams closed the entrance of the tunnel again with iron wires.
