THE ACCIDENT BECAME UNAVOIDABLE WHEN THE DRIVER FELL ASLEEP
The accident occurred the previous day on Yaşar Doğu Street in Yenidoğan District, Yüreğir district center. The minibus with license plate 01 M 0433, driven by M.Ö. (27), crashed into the police school wall. Seven people in the minibus were injured in the accident. After the accident, the driver M.Ö. left the scene and fled. The injured were taken to various hospitals in the city. It was learned that the injured were discharged after their treatment.

Meanwhile, the moment of the accident was captured second by second on the vehicle's interior security camera. The footage shows the driver falling asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to go out of control and crash into the wall.
Teams from the Akıncılar Police Station, affiliated with the Yüreğir District Police Department, pursued the fleeing driver M.Ö. During their investigation, police determined that M.Ö. was hiding at a relative's house. M.Ö. was caught during a raid on the relative's house.

It was learned that M.Ö., taken to the police station, said during his interrogation, "When I reached the intersection, I had a momentary lapse, and the accident happened. I had a problem with my girlfriend the night before, so I was sleepless from that. In the morning, since I couldn't find anyone to take my shift, I got behind the wheel. When the sun hit my face, I suddenly dozed off. At that moment, I lost control of the steering wheel. I fled because of fear of being lynched."
M.Ö. faced a total fine of 70,000 TL for offenses such as not wearing a seatbelt, changing lanes improperly, and leaving the scene of the accident. After the procedures, M.Ö. was referred to the courthouse and released under judicial supervision.
