The statement said that the bill aimed at liquidating the funds in a fair, transparent, and legally safe manner was submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and accepted by the Plan and Budget Committee. LIQUIDATION DECISION FOR 131 FUNDS

The Capital Markets Board (SPK) decided on September 17 to liquidate 131 funds belonging to 7 portfolio management companies. According to Central Registry Agency (MKK) records, there are 455,758 investors in these funds. On October 1, the SPK made an interim payment decision for funds in the liquidation process of Tera, Pusula, Atlas, and Hedef Portfolio Management.

According to the decision, investors can be paid up to 1 million lira based on the net investment amounts in MKK records before the liquidation is completed. The interim payment made will be deducted from the final receivable to be calculated at the end of liquidation. It had been stated that priority in payments would be given to money market funds and that the order would start with the fund with the most investors.

PAYMENT PLAN CHANGED FOR 31 FUNDS

Meanwhile, the SPK removed 31 funds belonging to Hedef Portfolio from the interim payment mechanism. Payments in these funds will be made within the framework of ordinary liquidation rules. Accordingly, fund assets will first be converted into cash, and the distributable amount will be transferred to investors in proportion to their shares. The liquidation process will be carried out by the authorized custodian institution Ziraat Bank. No payment date has yet been announced for these funds.

OTHER TOPICS ON THE ECONOMIC AGENDA

In the EKK statement, it was argued that with the implemented economic program, growth has become more balanced and unemployment and inflation have declined. The Board reported that they aim to increase productivity and competitiveness while preserving these gains. The statement also indicated that strengthening the link between education and employment is among priority policy areas. It was conveyed that employment of young people and women will be encouraged, and that revisions in balance of payments statistics were also discussed at the meeting.
