The European Central Bank (ECB) has implemented a 25 basis point interest rate cut. This marks the fourth consecutive meeting in which the bank has decided to reduce interest rates.
After the Fed, the European Central Bank (ECB) also announced its first interest rate decision of the year. Accordingly, the ECB reduced the three main policy interest rates by 25 basis points in line with market expectations. Thus, the ECB has implemented interest rate cuts for four consecutive meetings.
In a statement made today by the ECB, it was noted that the deposit interest rate was lowered from 3% to 2.75%. The bank also reduced the refinancing rate and the marginal lending rate by 25 basis points, bringing them down to 2.90% and 3.15%, respectively.
