Security camera footage of the explosion at a fireworks factory in Niğde's Bor district yesterday, which killed one person and injured another, has emerged.
In the Kemerhisar town of Niğde's Bor district, an explosion occurred at a fireworks factory owned by a private company yesterday around 4:00 PM for unknown reasons. Workers Nuri Özkan and Yasin Demirbaş were injured in the blast. Upon notification, health teams were dispatched to the area. The injured were taken to Bor State Hospital and Niğde Education and Research Hospital by ambulances. Nuri Özkan, one of the injured, could not be saved despite doctors' intervention. Yasin Demirbaş, in critical condition, was admitted to intensive care.
FACTORY EXPLOSION ON CAMERA
Regarding the explosion that occurred yesterday at the fireworks factory, where another explosion on January 27, 2018, resulted in 2 deaths, the Ministry of Interior launched an investigation by assigning 1 civil chief inspector and 1 police chief inspector from the General Directorate of Security's Private Security Inspection Board. Security camera footage of the explosion at the factory, located away from residential areas, has also emerged.
LAID TO REST
Nuri Özkan, who lost his life in the explosion at the fireworks factory, was laid to rest. Niğde Governor Nedim Akmeşe, Niğde Mayor Emrah Özdemir, his family, and citizens attended his funeral at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Mosque. After the funeral prayer following the noon prayer, Nuri Özkan's body was buried in Hıdırlık Cemetery.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Yasin Demirbaş, injured in the explosion, continues treatment at the Burn Treatment Unit of Kayseri City Hospital, where he was transferred.
