A father and son who cut off the car in front of them with a truck and attacked the driver over the "right of way" issue in Adana were arrested. The father, whose driver's license was revoked for 2 years and whose truck was banned from traffic, and his son were also fined 363,000 TL. The suspect, who tried to attack by getting on the hood of the car with a knife in his hand, stated in his testimony, "I got angry when he made a hand gesture. I had a knife in my hand, but I had no intention of stabbing."
On March 23, around 16:00, a dispute arose between truck driver Mehmet Necmi Z. (54) and car driver Fatih Ö. due to a "right of way" disagreement in the Yeşilevler neighborhood of Seyhan district in Adana.
BLOCKED THE ROAD WITH THE TRUCK, CLIMBED ON THE HOOD AND THREATENED
Upon this, Mehmet Necmi Z. stopped by blocking the car's path. Mehmetcan Z. (32), son of Mehmet Necmi Z., got out of the truck with a knife and climbed onto the car's hood, making threats. Mehmet Necmi Z. then cursed, got his son back into the vehicle, and left the scene. Those moments were captured by the car's dashcam.
363 THOUSAND LIRA FINE IMPOSED
Following the complaint of car driver Fatih Ö., the teams from the Seyhan District Police Department's Crime Prevention and Investigation Bureau detained the suspects in a raid at their hideout in Gürselpaşa neighborhood. The knife that Mehmetcan Z. held during the fight was seized in the truck. The suspects were fined 363 thousand lira for various offenses, while Mehmet Necmi Z.'s driver's license was suspended for 2 months, and his vehicle was banned from traffic for 2 months.
"I HAD A KNIFE BUT I DIDN'T INTEND TO STAB"
Mehmetcan Z., one of the suspects taken to the police, stated in his testimony, "After arguing in traffic, I got angry when he made a hand gesture. In a moment of rage, I got out of the truck. I had a knife in my hand, but I had no intention of stabbing." His father, Mehmet Necmi Z., said that they had committed no crime.

After their procedures, Mehmetcan Z. and Mehmet Necmi Z., who were referred to the courthouse, were arrested by the court they were brought before.
