The terrorist organization PKK will take a new "historic step" today in line with the call of its leader Abdullah Öcalan and the decisions of the PKK's 12th Congress.

According to a report by Namık Durukan from T24, the terrorist organization will withdraw from the region along the Turkish border, including the strategically located Gara Mountain. The organization will hold a "press conference" to announce this move.

NOTABLE DEVELOPMENT BEFORE ERDOĞAN'S MEETING

The PKK's move coincides with the upcoming meeting of the DEM Party delegation with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on October 28.

PKK HAD DISBANDED AND BURNED WEAPONS

Upon Abdullah Öcalan's call, the PKK held a ceremony on July 11, during which a group of organization members, including Hülya Oran, code-named Bese Hozat, burned their weapons.

STEP BY STEP TOWARDS A TERROR-FREE TURKEY PROCESS

In a statement made on October 30, President Erdoğan emphasized that the People's Alliance operates with a common political vision, sending a message of support for the process. Erdoğan's statement became the first step to strengthen the political ground for the "Terror-Free Turkey" goal.

IMRALI MEETINGS AND DEM PARTY TRAFFIC

As part of the process, the DEM Party delegation, with the permission of the Ministry of Justice, went to Imralı on December 28 to hold the first meeting. After this meeting, the delegation contacted the Speaker of the Parliament Numan Kurtulmuş and the MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.

After the second and third Imralı meetings held in January and February, a call was made from Imralı to the PKK to disband the organization. On the second day of the Ramadan Feast on March 31, notable meetings took place among political parties. The AK Party celebrated the holiday with the DEM Party after a 10-year hiatus; the MHP, for the first time, also celebrated with the DEM Party. The second round of meetings in March was considered one of the most critical stages of the process.

HISTORIC MEETING AT BEŞTEPE

On April 10, President Erdoğan received DEM Party deputies Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder at Beştepe. This meeting was recorded as a turning point in the "Terror-Free Turkey" process. However, a key figure in the process, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, passed away on May 3 due to a heart condition.

PKK CONGRESS AND DISARMAMENT DECISION

The PKK decided to end its armed activities during the congress held between May 5-7. On May 12, it officially announced the "disarmament and disbandment" decision. While the relevant state institutions closely monitored developments on the ground, contacts continued uninterrupted to ensure the process was not disrupted. The DEM Party delegation visited Imralı two more times on May 18 and July 6. Subsequently, another meeting was held at the Presidential Complex on July 7.

On July 10, President Erdoğan met again with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli to evaluate the current status of the process. Thus, Turkey has passed a historic threshold in the nearly half-century-long terrorism issue. With the PKK's disarmament, the final stage of the "Terror-Free Turkey" process has begun.
