As a result of the successful operation carried out by the Syrian National Army in Manbij, the fate of the Suleyman Shah Tomb has been clarified in the area that has been cleared of PKK/YPG terrorism. Following the counter-terrorism efforts, the way has been paved for the tomb to be relocated back to its original site.

The Syrian National Army (SNA) has ended the presence of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG in the town of Manbij, located in Aleppo province. In the operations, Karakozak, where the tomb of Suleiman Shah is located and which was moved closer to the Turkish border due to the increasing threat of ISIS, was also cleared of terrorists. Thus, the way was opened for the tomb to be moved back to its original location.

The SNA continues its search and clearance operations without slowing down in the area it has liberated from occupation. SNA units patrolling the streets of Manbij are conducting detection and destruction operations for the bomb traps and mines set up by PKK/YPG in the buildings of residential areas and on the roads in rural areas.

THE FATE OF SULEIMAN SHAH'S TOMB HAS BEEN REVEALED

According to a report by Yeni Şafak, SNA forces have also captured the Karakozak Bridge, which was under the control of PKK/YPG. With the clearing of the bridge from terrorism, the Suleiman Shah Tomb located in the region has also been liberated.

The fate of Suleiman Shah's Tomb, moved to the Turkish border, has been revealed

The tomb had been at risk due to intense attacks by the terrorist organization ISIS in 2015. For this reason, the historical tomb was moved to Eşme on the Turkey-Syria border with a large operation involving 39 tanks, 57 armored vehicles, 100 vehicles, and 572 personnel. With the SNA's capture of the Karakozak Bridge, it is expected that the tomb will be moved back to Karakozak.

HOW WAS SULEIMAN SHAH MOVED TO EŞME?

The Suleiman Shah Tomb was initially located at the Castle of Caber near Raqqa. Due to the risk of the tomb and military outpost being submerged, it was moved in 1975 to a new location in the village of Karakozak, located 123 km from Aleppo and 92 km from Şanlıurfa, as a result of negotiations between the governments of Ankara and Damascus. When the threat of ISIS increased in 2015, the tomb was moved to the village of Eşme, near the Turkish border, with the Shah Fırat Operation. The tomb contains the remains of Suleiman Shah, the grandfather of Osman Gazi, the founder of the Ottoman Empire, and the father of Ertuğrul Gazi, along with two soldiers.
